A plane owned by Hendrick Motorsports, one of the most successful teams in Nascar history, crashed en route to the Subway 500 Nextel Cup race in Martinsville, VA yesterday, killing the son of owner Rick Hendrick and several family members. Hendrick's son, Ricky, a retired Craftsman Series driver, worked for Hendrick Motorsports, which owns the teams of Jeff Gordon, Terry Labonte, Brian Vickers and Jimmie Johnson, whose win at the Subway 500 was overshadowed by the tragedy.
