There are no pictures of Bugatti's Veyron hitting 248.5mph at VW's Ehra-Lessien test track last month — the official photographer missed every shot. (Yes, it was fast.) Now, Evo offers details on the car's mysterious "second key," required to unlock the top speed of the $1 million+ supercar. Inserting the key in a slot near the driver's seat initiates a series of safety checks, lowers the chassis, stablizes the car's diffuser flaps (in the closed position) and Minimizes the angle of incidence of the rear aerofoil to reduce wind resistance. Finally, internal speed limiters are disabled and the Veyron is ready for serious pedal-down action. Still, fully unleashing the Veyron is unlikely to be a daily routine for buyers — no one could possibly be that late for work.
