Apparently in Detroit, the terrorism alert system is stuck on "holy shit, take cover." If Ford's Synus concept is any indication, urban living in the next decade will involve — along with the customary fenderbenders, dustups and carjackings — taking fire from automatic weapons, dodging armor-piercing ordinance, and surviving various forms of explosive detonation. The Synus, or (are they for real?) synthesis urban sanctuary is literally a downscaled armored car, with bulletproof, non-opening windows, apparently created as a haven for urban drivers navigating dystopian urban centers of the future.
