Mitsubishi's 2006 Eclipse went on sale yesterday — more than 10 days sooner than the company had said it would — priced $300 less than its predecessor. With total sales down 40% from 2004 (down 20% on the Eclipse alone), the company is hoping to gain some momentum from the redesigned sport coupe, and hoping it'll be a key player in a turnaround scenario. It's a lot of freight for one dinky, little coupe to carry - hopefully they added extra-stiff shocks.
