After half-revealing it already on their website, the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team showed the world today the new W04, or in other words, Lewis Hamilton's new ride.
We didn't expect radical changes from any of the teams for the last season before the new regulations take over, so it's not surprising that the new car looks much like its predecessor. The nose got much prettier, and they changed a lot at the rear just like McLaren, but otherwise, the W04 is business as usual. Hopefully not in terms of the performance though, as even Bernie Ecclestone claimed that "Mercedes have no excuses not to be competitive in 2013."
If the W04 can do its part, Nico Rosberg and newbie Lewis "Earring" Hamilton will surely not disappoint with Ross Brawn and a reorganized management's support behind their backs. Practice starts tomorrow with Ferrari, Lotus, McLaren, Force India, Sauber and Red Bull on the grid at Circuit de Jerez, so we shall see soon enough.
