This is the factory-built electric Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG E-Cell. It's a prototype sporting four electric motors with a combined output of 525 hp and 649 lb-ft of grunt. Also, it's yellow and has funky doors, but who cares? Torrrrrrrrrrrrque!

The vitals: The E-Cell sports four electric motors, one near each wheel (but not contained within the hubs), and one transmission per axle. A modular, liquid-cooled, 48-KWh, 40-Ah, 400-volt lithium-ion battery. A claimed 0-100 kmh acceleration time of "around four seconds." Mercedes-Benz also claims, as it has before, that no modifications to the SLS's aluminum frame were required in order to fit the electric drivetrain.

Production specifics have not been released, but as Autocar reported last year, the car could see the streets as early as 2015.

As a side note, German publication Bild Review has driven it:

Not a bad way to start a Tuesday. Wonder what it weighs. Any guesses?
