Pack light, oh travelers of the warmish climes, Mazda's leaping its zoom-zoom ass onto the retractable hardtop bandwagon, launching a folding-hardtop of its MX-5 in September 2006, as AutoWeek is reporting. No word yet on how much weight the three-piece folding roof will add to the roadster, which will be badged MX-5 Hardtop, but it'll add between $2,000 to $3,000 to its wallet suck. Still, buyers will save on trunk space, as the top will likely take up most available storage.
