A Massachusetts legislator supports changing the state's license plates to be simpler to remember. His proposal is not unsound; three letters and an incandescent symbol, he says, would be easier for crime witnesses to remember — and relate to police — than the current collection of meaningless numbers and letters. In the case of the prototype (pictured), for example, the perp is most likely a Boston fan with a penchant for diminutive musicians who dress predominately in purple. Man, that's a toughie.
