A new Ford Bronco is yet to be officially confirmed, but now us hopefuls can all stop crowding around that one silly render Four Wheeler made for April Fool’s Day 2014, or that Bronco concept from a decade back. This new concept art from Bronco6G is my favorite modern interpretation of the vehicle yet.
Just so we’re all on the same page; this is the automotive equivalent of fan fiction, not something issued or endorsed by the Ford Motor Company in any way. But that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate some awesome automotive art, and what’s more fun to speculate on than the hypothetical “2020 Bronco?”
Bronco6G imagines the new truck as a Jeep Wrangler rival, true to its original design and intention. The cynic in me says it’s more likely to be crapped out as a crossover, but who am I to dash dreams?
“We fused styling elements from previous Bronco generations, the 2004 Bronco concept, and modern Ford trucks and SUVs. You can see the classic round headlights and square inset front grille evolved from the 1st gen Bronco, which was also showcased in the retro-futuristic 2004 Bronco concept;” the Bronco6G forum administrator writes.
Yes, there is an entire forum dedicated to a “sixth generation Bronco” that many people are sure is going to be built. They’ve actually posted a few variations on this concept render, and they’re all pretty cool.
Some of you may remember that Jalopnik readers took a crack at redesigning the “next Bronco” a couple years ago, and as much as I loved everybody’s efforts I think the Bronco6G artists have raised the bar.
Keep dreaming,. I’m just happy we have a new fake Bronco to look at now.
