Today's environmentally conscious Beach Boys would be so proud. A student at a Utah technology college is building a hybrid-electric '32 Ford coupe. Only unlike most systems in production, in which an electric motor supplements the gas engine, Brent Singleton's system will be mainly electric, with a supplementary engine that may or may not run on gas. (Diesel's not out of the question.) Singleton, who's getting help from other students plans to parlay the system into a kit that'll allow others to perform similar conversions.
