The UK's Transport Secretary, Alistair Darling (man, they just don't make names like that anymore), has decreed that by 2010, the United Kingdom will consume 5% of its gas and diesel in the form of biofuel. Known as the Renewable Transport Fuels Obligation (how veddy British, that), the decree has some biofuels suppliers in a hippy-dippy delirium and other enviro-types bitching that it's Simply. Not. Enough. In any event, we'll keep an eye on this to see how it plays out. Any of our British cousins have any info on farm subsidies and whatnot? Fill us in.
