Murilee Martin, whose wit we haven't seen enough of in the comments lately, kicked over a spec sheet for this '72 Datsun 1200 powered by electricity. The diminutive Nissan product, weighing in at 2300 pounds (batteries, remember) apparently lays claim to the world's quickest electric street car, laying down low twelve-second ETs at 105+. As it's direct-drive (no trans, one gear ratio) and the motor never needs to be adjusted for atmospheric conditions, this could be the ultimate bracket-racing weapon. All you have to worry about is traction.
