An L.A. Times investigation into the "fiery floor mat death" issue doesn't surprise us. Most of this can be summed up in the recall timeline we published last month.
Still, this is a deeper look into Toyota and their new safety efforts. The LA Times claims the company that got a reputation for quality and safety through engineering has seemingly shifted their game plan from rolling out evolutionary technical improvements to just blaming or paying-off anyone who complains. It's worth a read. (Hat tip to Brian!) [Los Angeles Times]
