Ken Block has been a household name in the automotive community for over 15 years, at least since the first Gymkhana Practice video dropped on YouTube in 2008, though some might have known him before that as a DC Shoes guy. In the process of making a dozen or more Gymkhana and adjacent videos, Block wrecked a whole lot of shit. He was hard on equipment, which is part of what made his Gymkhana video series so damn enjoyable to watch.
Block’s fatal snowmobile crash early last year sparked an outpouring of love from the community. Block’s family has dedicated his memory to helping young up-and-comers make it as artists, entrepreneurs, and extreme sports athletes, as well as providing helmet safety for middle schoolers. This philanthropy is run through the 43 Institute nonprofit, and the auction started on 4/3, celebrating Block’s race number.
Block’s family put up a number of items from his personal archive treasure trove. A full 43 unique items are up on eBay right now for bidding to benefit 43 Institute, and this is your opportunity to go bid on them. Click through the following slides to see my fifteen favorite items from the auction!
