Some road surfaces in Japan have been textured with variously spaced grooves that play melodies drivers can hear in their cars. According to Japan culture site Dotcomu, grooves that are close together play a higher pitch than those further apart, making the musical pieces the function of "tuning" the groove widths. We are speechless. Could you imagine hearing the Wicked Witch's theme from "The Wizard of Oz" as you're driving through a dodgy neighborhood, or AC/DC's "Whole Lotta Rosie" on some lonely Australian highway? We'd freaking flip out. [Thanks to The Kelegraph.]
