When we heard the latest offering from beloved-but-never-great Italian automaker was relaunching with a crossover we said they'd be "better off dead." Looks like we got our wish. The automaker is in the process of liquidation and looking for partners.
It's a sad end for the company that produced the classic Pantera, funky Longchamp, and painfully beautiful Mangusta.
Yet, if it's between starting a new bastardizing the brand with a crossover or maybe being sold to someone who can actually produce a car we'll gladly take the latter.
All of the 900 unpaid employees at the company's Italian plant are waiting to see if someone will come in to rescue the formerly Pininfarina factory.
Any Germans out there want it? Buying historic Italian brands the cool thing to do now. (Hat tip to TeamPenske3!)
