Ryan Hunter-Reay was invited to attend a wedding of a childhood friend on May 25th. But he already had plans on May 25th: He was racing in the Indy 500, which he won. His excuse for not attending? He'd hopefully be "winning the Indy 500." Eerie.
The card, which was sent our way earlier and Andretti Autosport has confirmed is 100 percent real, is a response to one of Hunter-Reay's childhood friends.
While he couldn't make the wedding and was apparently the only member of his group of friends who couldn't make it, his day was spent winning the biggest race in the world and making $2.4 million. I think his friends will forgive him. We were also told that Hunter-Reay's friends watched the race in the bar when the ceremony was over. So it was like he was there the whole time.
Hat Tip to Andrew!
