In 1981 Dodge entered a pair of Ramchargers in the Safari Rally. They finished 1-2 in class, driven by Malcolm Smith and Rod Hall, 9th and 10th overall. Pretty rad if you ask me.
Amazing how stock it looks. Nowadays the paved roads are full of people who need more externally obvious modifications and accessories to make it from the jobsite to the beer joints on Friday night.
Is there a write-up available on how they prepped the vehicle? Dodge advertising of the era made much of the finish, as one might imagine, but the ads stated only that the trucks had been specially prepared, without details as to how.
I think there were a total of four Ramchargers out there, two of which retired.
