I'm Driving To The 24 Hours Of Le Mans In This Porsche 911 GT3

I’m about to scratch a major item off my photography bucket list: I’m covering the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend for Jalopnik. And in addition to shooting the race and tracking how Porsche’s team in particular wages war on track for a day straight, I have a good ride in the form of this 911 GT3.

(Full Disclosure: The folks at Porsche Great Britain suggested that I spend some time with them once I get to Le Mans, but also insisted I drive a new 991.2 GT3 from London to Le Mans and back. Twist my arm.)

I’ll be taking off from London tomorrow, covering about 400 miles along the way, and have a lot of work to do. I have to pick up my credentials, check into the hotel, get my hospitality pass, and somehow make it to the photo briefing at 4 p.m. local time.

Luckily this car is fast. Unfortunately, French motorways are... not. They’re massive speed traps, so I’ll have to behave myself.

I’ll be posting more about the car and my drive after the race weekend, but in the meantime, please send me your questions about this machine—and what you want to see from the race itself.
