IGN Whines About Domestic Tuner Cars

The kids at IGN have a bit of a point. They complain that too many of the domestic cars at the SEMA show were given to custom shops known more for hot rods, customs and musclecars than for genuine tuner vehicles. Ford was pushing the Fusion, Mustang, F-Series and GT, primarily, while GM handed over the HHR to shops that (however clumsily) would bring a touch of days gone by to the retro wagonlet. That said, calling guys like Foose and Coddington "old school" is pretty laughable and shows an ignorance of the last seventy years of rodding history. Gene Winfield is old-school. George Barris is old-school. Alex Xydias is old school. Chip Foose, boys, is not.
