
I think I've said before that of all the technological promises from my youth, the only thing to really exceed my expectations were video games. We have no jet packs or pizzas-in-pills, but our games look fantastic. Let's look at when they didn't, with a big goofy poster!

The basic premise of this poster is a general evolution of the player's car — that is, the car that you control — in video games from the mid-'70s to the late '80s. This was a period of some huge advancements, and you can clearly see that here.
Also, you have to really respect the artists who managed to make recognizable cars with only 16 or so colors and pixels the size of cheeseburgers.
