A firm in Scotland is making its second attempt to break the 10,000 miles-per-gallon record for fuel consumption, held by a single-cylinder, petrol-engine eco-car, the Microjoule, built by students from France's Lyc e St Joseph La Joliverie. The Aberdeen-based company, siGEN, supplied the fuel cell technology that powers the car, a 25-watt, hydrogen-driven, dolphin-shaped vehicle, dubbed Gh2ost. The Gh2ost, whose only emission is water (oh, GH2Ost!) achieved 1,200 miles per gallon during a similar test last August.
In other news, a 10-stories-tall dump truck at a West Virginia strip mine is weeping.
