We pretty much get the car film format at this point, with the dramatic build up and the slow motion and whatever else. What we need now is more weird vids, like this kaleidoscope edit for Formula Drift’s Matt Coffman.
Coffman doesn’t need a lot of editing to look cool. He has a Ford V8 in his widebody Nissan S13. He has a gigantic steering angle kit, and his car looks like a Gulf-livery fighter jet.
But Thirsty Films and 9NINE2 messed with perfection and ended up with something much cooler than obvious, with a kind of abstract take on what it feels like as you drive, going nowhere, still watching the world pass you by.
