At last! The 2017 Fiat 124 Spider configurator is online. Get over there and spec out your turbocharged retro Italian ex-Miata.
Like a lot of people, I’m excited for this car because it looks like it should offer all the driving dynamics of the wonderful new Mazda Miata, with a slightly more powerful and punchy 1.4-liter MultiAir turbo engine out of the Fiat 500 Abarth. That means good noises, too.
After going through the configurator I’m a little bummed at the color choices, mainly because that nice shade of blue we saw at the LA Auto Show is for a more expensive special launch edition only. The other choices are a bit bland, but this off-white Bianco Perla is old-school enough for me.
I picked a mid-range Lusso model with a manual (duh), tan leather seats and the premium package for $32,880. Not bad at all.
