Automobiles are not singular objects, but rather of a collection of interconnected parts slowly wearing out at different rates. A good mechanic will help identify what needs to be replaced or repaired. According to Reddit user dnalloheoj, the folks at his local Firestone aren't so good at that.

Ha! I had a similar, though not quite as egregious experience at Firestone trying to get my tires balanced. Went across the street to the 22" chromed out rim store and they did it for $5 a wheel. Never went back to Firestone; good to hear i'm not missing out on anything.
