Google Street View usually provides us with ground-level shots of the world's road network. What was Street View doing on a ski hill, and for that matter, how did it get there?
One word: plastics snowmobiles. The Street View team has mounted its camera on everything from cars to tricycles, but to cover ski slopes (the top shot was taken at Whistler in preparation for the upcoming winter Olympics), they're using motorized sleds. Nice.
