Honda's Civic Si Concept Uncovered in Chicago

With its Civic Si concept, Honda looks to be on track to making its "tuner surprise" model into a player, even it stock form. Aspects of the concept will likely appear in the 2006 production model, due to debut later in 2005, including an updated i-VTEC engine — a 200-horsepower, 16-valve buzzer, with an 8,000 rpm redline, and now-obiligatory 6-speed manual transmission. Sportier still is the Civic's new design swoops, which will likely squelch the contagious yawns inspired by the current model, as often mistaken for an electric car from the 1970s as a modern street machine. We turn now to the latest in the Car Fans franchise for more on the Si. Take it, JCF.
