Honda Says The New Civic Type R Will Be An Unbeatable 'Super Type R'

Go home, Integra. Step aside, NSX. Your kids need picking up at soccer practice, Civic and Accord. Honda says their new 276 horsepower 2015 Civic Type R is so potent, so uncompromising in its performance, that it will trump every Type R car that came before it.

We don't learn a ton about the Civic Type R in this new teaser video, but we do hear project leader Suehiro Hasshi hype it up quite a bit. He says it's going to be one hell of a ride, and one that will surpass its predecessors in performance.

With 276 horsepower from a 2.0-liter turbocharged VTEC four — one that redlines at respectable but not insane 7,000 RPM — Hasshi says Honda will close in on the front-wheel drive Nürburgring lap time record.
