Go home, Integra. Step aside, NSX. Your kids need picking up at soccer practice, Civic and Accord. Honda says their new 276 horsepower 2015 Civic Type R is so potent, so uncompromising in its performance, that it will trump every Type R car that came before it.
We don't learn a ton about the Civic Type R in this new teaser video, but we do hear project leader Suehiro Hasshi hype it up quite a bit. He says it's going to be one hell of a ride, and one that will surpass its predecessors in performance.
With 276 horsepower from a 2.0-liter turbocharged VTEC four — one that redlines at respectable but not insane 7,000 RPM — Hasshi says Honda will close in on the front-wheel drive Nürburgring lap time record.
It's good to see this kind of brashness from Honda again. We've missed you, guys! Now bring the damn thing to America.
