Honda Accord Remains Most Stolen Car In America

Everyone loves the Honda Accord! Especially thieves, and who could blame them? It's practical, reliable, fun to drive, and very popular. That's why the Accord topped the NICB's list of stolen vehicles for 2013.

Each year the NICB publishes their Hot Wheels list of the most stolen vehicles in America and the Accord topped that list as it has for many years. A video posted by the NICB points out that generally older Accord models, made before cars came with anti-theft technology, are the ones that are most stolen.

Nearly 30 1996 Accords were stolen for every 2013 Accord stolen, so if you just bought yourself a shiny new 2014 Oldsmobile Cutlass Honda Accord don't fret. In fact, new car thefts have been declining significantly, thanks to continuous improvements in anti-theft technology.

Many of these stolen Accords will end up being stripped and parted out so as to avoid theft detection. So I guess my piece of consumer advice based on this would be to buy a Porsche 944 instead of a Honda Accord because who the hell is going to steal a 944. Plus if it's a manual, no one will be able to steal it.
