Toyota wants to make a statement with the Tundra TRD Pro they're racing at the 2014 Baja 1000: "You can buy this Tundra at your dealer." Well, pretty much. Watch how the team set up their off-the-shelf truck for the grueling battle beneath the Mexican sun.
The truck's running in Full Size Stock Class, and Toyota's really hoping it finishes so they can use it for a million commercials. If it fails, they're going to be in a tight spot on PR for their "desert-ready" TRD Pro Line.
To stack the deck in their favor Toyota has held on to off-road racing legend Ivan "Ironman" Stewart as their team coach. He's leading Ted Moncure, Andy Bell, Jamie Bestwik, Ryan Millen, and Toyota Trucks Chief Engineer Mike Sweers as Navigator through this week's desert racing event.
