AutoWeek reports that Ford isn't planning to roll over and let GM's upcoming Chevrolet Tahoe and other full-sized SUV hybrids show up its Expedition. The company's reportedly working on higher-mileage versions of its largest SUV, including a hybrid-drive model and a V8 diesel, that'll be ready by early next decade. Still, on that timetable, the hybrid Expy would come in three years after the first such GM vehicle and two years after Chrysler's hybrid Durango (GM, DaimlerChrysler and BMW are partnering on the same two-mode hybrid system). But will Ford just go ahead and buy the system from GM? Such a deal is more than likely, says AW.
