Cars of the future may look a lot like 1973 Cadillac Eldorados, at least if videogames like Grand Theft Auto exert their stylistic influence over the next generation of designers. The president of a US auto-design college told a JD Power panel that an "edgy and futuristic" design aesthetic will likely take hold five to ten years from now. In the search for distinctive designs, he said, designers will increasingly look toward the designers of video games for ideas. Of course, videogame designers get their ideas from cars of the past as well as the present. We call that one crazy feedback loop.
