Most of the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg looks like your average street course: tight walls, high fences and big city buildings in the background. But then, a surprise: it opens up around the pits. You can see the Pirelli World Challenge and IndyCar races on TV, but here's what it looks like from inside the car.
This is from onboard the Turner Motorsports number 94 BMW Z4 GT3 on the streets of St. Petersburg, and I must say: it's one of the prettier street circuits, for sure. Tall palm trees will do that.
Watch driver Dane Cameron battle in race traffic during one of the Pirelli World Challenge sessions this weekend. Given that it's World Challenge, the scenery on track isn't too shabby, either. Mustangs! Porsches! And I'm pretty sure that's a Lambo, dude.
Bonus: this gives us a full lap of a driver action. I long for the day where we'll be able to mount a camera behind the center net, but in the meantime, you can at least get a good idea of how cozy the driver is and what he's up to behind the wheel.
It's also good to see the Z4 GT3 back in Turner's signature yellow and blue. There's nothing like a full lap of glorious straight-cut gear whine to wake you up in the morning, either.
