One of the best driving gestures right now is prominently flashing your middle finger at that jackass that just cut you off. Now Google wants to patent gesture-based car controls that are actually useful and probably not vulgar.
Google already has a pretty big presence in the automotive space with these self driving cars that we're hearing so much about. They also bought a gesture control company, Flutter, this week, so this makes sense.
In fact, the patent reminds us a lot of the controls that were in the Hyundai HCD-9 Concept from Detroit in January.
