The capless fuel filler Ford developed for the Ford GT is making its way across the company's Ford and Lincoln-Mercury line in the next several years, the company says, starting with the 2008 Lincoln MKS. Instead of cappage, the models will have a flap that opens when pressed with the gas pump nozzle, and it'll keep fumes from escaping — a feature the company is applying to its environmentally sensitive messaging. Having lost a few hundred gas caps — running over one such that it shot out and nearly took out the attendant's eye — we heartily approve.
