Why is it when the heads of automakers one and two have a salad together all tongues are set a' waggin'? (Let's see, one's losing money like it bet its pension fund on the Atlanta Hawks, and the other's drawing it in like a Fat City bookie.) The BBC is reporting that Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe and General Motors CEO Rick Wagoner have been meeting in Tokyo to discuss cooperative partnerships, where Toyota can assuage possible anti-Japan feelings, while GM can, let's see, make some money selling cars. The two sides still say no such talks are talking place. We'll know soon enough what comes of it.
