With the recent additions of the turbocharged Ford Police Interceptor, the V8-powered Chevrolet Caprice, and the Dodge Charger to police fleets, the United States is not lacking for high-performance police cars.

Our friends across the pond, however, have had to make due with Volvo Wagons and Vauxhall Astra Diesel police cars for year. They aren't exactly what you'd call "fast" or "intimidating." But British cops are finally getting something a little bit quicker to chase down baddies in.

The Ford Focus ST Wagon, which is taboo to us Americans, has just made its debut as a police car in the UK. Thanks to its well received starring role in the British cop film The Sweeney, Ford has now built an ST wagon to show the 'rozzers' just how good this can be.

Ford's modded wagon has an all LED light bar and special data terminals so that cops can capture the baddies. Right now, it's just a demonstrator, but Ford seems to be serious about showing just how good this could be for cops.

These cars aren't cheap, but as we've seen in the past, cheap cop cars are pretty rubbish...
