There's trouble a' brewing among the top two auto brands in the US, and folks might have to call the Sheriff on this here one. Ford's accusing Chevy of not being the US's top-selling brand, as Chevy claims in its recent ad campaign. According to kindly Mr. R.L. Polk, Ford may have sold 5,000 more cars than Chevrolet in 2005, though both companies' own sales figures conflict with Polk's number. Year-end reports from Chevy and Ford indicate Chevy sold the greater number of cars, overtaking Ford for the first time since 1986. Now Ford wants Chevy to retract its claims. Is someone out there hoarding Chevys for the winter? C'mon, fess up or meet yer doom.
