With Ford yanking its ye olde Taurus from rotation sometime next year, the company is expected to announce today it will order its new Fusion into Nascar duty. It's an interesting move, since we'd just assumed Ford would Nascarize its 500 sedan. But using the Fusion makes perfect sense, considering the new model could use the association in terms of consciousness-raising, and whatever performance cred it can get. Now all Ford needs is a V8-powered SVT version (or at least an aftermarket Roush package) and it could challenge Cadillac's CTS-V. As if it would be so bold.
