Ford Start Concept: No, It's Not An Audi

With an exterior mashing together an Audi A1 and a jellybean, the Start looks like what it is — Ford's first concept in three years. Then you look inside and see the close-to-reality 1.0-liter three-cylinder EcoBoost and a manual transmission.

If you want details on how the three-cylinder EcoBoost works you'll have to wait (but hey, look, pretty pictures!). All Ford's saying is it'll put out four-cylinder power with three-cylinder efficiency via Ford's not-so-secret recipe of direct-injection and turbocharging coupled with a six-speed manual transmission.

It debuts today at the Beijing Motor Show so, even if this doesn't go into production, expect to see six Chinese copies powered by lawnmower engines by the end of the month. (Hat tip to Josh!)
