Ford dropped a bombshell on the automotive world today, when it introduced a second high-performance version of its new-generation Mustang, just a week after unveiling the Shelby Cobra GT500 at the New York Auto Show. The company anounced it will soon introduce the new Mustang GT600 Cobra Jet, a two-seater ragtop featuring a supercharged 428ci motor, factory-issued 22" rims and a seven-speed gearbox with paddle shifters. Design Chief, J. Mays, said the new Mustang was "something we've been playing around with for years, but haven't had nearly enough cajones to build, that is until we slipped Bill Ford a double-dose of Xanax in his croissant. After that, it was no sweat." Word is, the newest addition to the pony car fleet, to be built in Jiaxing, China, will be priced at around $12,000 to appeal to younger, first-time buyers and those with decade-old English degrees.
