John Simister over at the Independent got his hands on the new Mazda6 on the eve of its launch in the UK and walked away impressed. For those of you who join us in lamenting the lack of Ford Europe products on these shores, he says the car seriously rivals the Mondeo and "feels like an Alfa 159 should, or like a BMW 3 Series would if it were, like the Mazda, front-wheel drive." Pretty high praise, especially when you consider the top-of-the-line model only comes with the 170 horsepower 2.3 liter four-banger as opposed to the 3.5 liter V6 that will be available when the Mazda6 arrives on our shores.
