Later this year, Fiat buyers (yes, only in Europe, what year do you think this is, 1978?) will be able to order vehicles with new telematics systems offering connectivity with cell phones, Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs and other Bluetooth-enabled devices. In addition to hands-free capabilities (speech recognition will be standard), motorists will be able to access Web services like off-board navigation and real-time traffic info, as well as digital music through a dashboard-mounted USB port through which users can upload files. We're only laughing because we're Americans who haven't seen a Fiat since they hauled our mom's 124 wagon to the dump — it looked like termites had eaten away the recycled steel. Otherwise, we're all for it.
