The MV Augusta Brutale 800 Dragster RR is a 140 horsepower three-cylinder monster motorcycle with the body of an evil robot and exhaust pipes like satan’s fingernails. And an even meaner version is coming soon, named after F1 driver and Instagram enthusiast Lewis Hamilton.
This Italian motorcycle maker has been around for decades, and while they might not be quite as much of a household name as Ducati they absolutely put out some amazing high-performance machines.
Here’s the Dragster without Hamilton’s blessing:
And here’s our first glimpse at the version that will wear his name:
Didn’t think you were going to get out of watching him make dramatic expressions, did you? Sorry.
Italian bikes have had famous racer names before; the Paul Smart and Mike Hailwood both had the honor of having Ducatis named after them. Of course those guys were motorcycle racers, but as Asphalt And Rubber pointed out Hamilton works for Mercedes and AMG owns a stake in MV Augusta. A tenuous (but existent!) connection.
That said, we’ve also heard the Lewis Hamilton Dragster RR is a dealer-commissioned custom project, executed by Monaco MV dealer Virginio Ferrari with a company called AlkaDesign.
So it’s unclear if that’s the case, or the bike is a favor to the racer or the company, but it sure does look pretty. Maybe enough to make you look cool riding it even if you can’t pull off Hammy’s lips or that perpetually posing long-stare.
As it’s available now, the Brutale 800 Dragster RR tests with a sub four-second 0 to 60 time and a top speed of 153 MPH. We’ll see if the Hamilton edition adds anything to that or if it’s purely decorative
