No, this picture is not photoshopped. Julien Dupont, the inventor of freestyle trials, is really riding his bike over the Mecca of traffic jams, Mexico City's Viaducto, during rush hour last Friday morning.
While this image isn't fake, it is staged, but only a little bit. That car/ramp is in on the gag, but the rest of the traffic is not. All this is a carefully crafted event designed to promote Red Bull in Mexico.
Julien has made a name for himself with his own unique brand of guerilla urban stunt riding, famously riding over Paris' seashell-like CNIT building two years ago, as seen in this video.
The bike he's riding is more often used for the relatively tame sport of trials, which is sort of a cross between gymnastics and dirt biking and requires its participants to maneuver their bikes over a variety of challenging obstacles like piles of logs and vertical concrete walls. Along with former world champion Dougie Lampkin, Julien is taking the sport out of stadiums and muddy fields and into city centers, stately homes, abandoned amusement parks and now, Mexican traffic jams.
