The first Grand Prix Electrique held in France last weekend featured 11 all-electric race cars gently buzzing around the Pau track — until six of them wrecked in one corner. Even when crunching into each other, EVs are quieter.
The cars were spec-built Andros EVs that had been adapted from a winter race for road courses, which may have contributed to the Keystone Kops parade into the tire barrier. The 13-mile race had reached average lap speeds of nearly 62 mph. The future's so bright, we're gonna wear shades, mainly so no one can see us napping at EV races.
