We just ran across this piece by British journalist Peter Loyn — penned a couple of months back — on the perils of transport outside the Green Zone in Iraq. Choices abound...go clandestine or hope an armored vehicle will protect you? Who'll attack you this time? Trigger-happy Americans or insurgent forces who don't like the site of Western faces? Drive yourself or hire a driver? Reading it, all you can do is shake your head and think, "Christ. What a fucking mess."
