Egad! EDAG, an automotive engineering and design firm based in Fulda, Germany is making its World premiere at the Detroit Motor Show 2006 with an innovative Pontiac Solstice hardtop concept reminiscent of the yet-unproduced Chevrolet Nomad concept of 2004. The English would call such a wagon-like sports car a "shooting brake" for its ability to carry a hound and shotgun, but the Edag concept is specifically for keeping up appearances — there's no more space available than a stock Solstice offers. Still, as a hardtop, one can presumably put a cargo box on top (though the ASPCA may give you a bit of a go). The company is also showing a yet-unseen SUV concept at the show. Edag's "Show Car 8" (below) will be unveiled at the New Delhi motor show. The Lotus Elise-like roadster is meant to highlight EDAG's design and production outsourcing capabilities, as well as its skill in reconfiguring existing parts to create new products for emerging markets.
