Jim Whitecastle, of Alameda, CA, owns 112 fire engines, from horse-drawn carriages to late '70s models. Whitecastle, who also owns a couple of UH-1 helicopters, is a retired contruction worker who also sits on the board of the Alameda Naval Air Museum, started collecting the trucks back in 1997, and hasn't slowed down since. In one instance, he bought one fire truck to tow another back from New York. But where in the crowded Bay Area would one man keep so many of these beasts? Naturally, at the decomissioned Alameda naval base, where Pavel Chekhov found the "nuclear wessels" in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. [Thanks to CTE for the tip.]
