MotorWeek first came on the air in October, 1981. Since it's been on the air for nearly 35 years, you'd expect that the formula has changed a lot. Well, it has not. And to prove it, here is the very first episode of the show.

Now, yes, John Davis has more hair and the whole studio has the feeling of a crazy automotive lab that for some reason has a camera in it. Also, JD isn't standing in that famous Maryland field. But other than that, pretty much everything is the same. Pat Goss is there, there are road tests, and it still provides the basic information you're looking for.

I love MotorWeek. In fact, I have a framed photo of John Davis on my mantle. And that's not a joke.

Is that creepy? Probably. Do I care? Nah.
